do capons crow?

A chicken is caponized when quite young. Long before it starts to crow. They don't stop crowing because they never start.

...Does a capon provide the services of a full rooster, minus fertilization? I mean, will he still guard against predators and take care of the girls?

The reason I ask is I'm considering getting my little roo caponized sos I can keep him.
