do certain breeds grow faster?

The 26 EE's I got from Ideal seemed to grow really fast and feather quickly. Then, I hatched 28 RIR's and Barred Rocks and they don't seem to be growing as fast. Same feed, lighting etc. I am just mistaken?

Some breeds do mature quicker

Absolutely. Generally the larger the bird, the longer it takes. That and having a brooder of chicks the first time is exciting! Two or three batches later you wish they'd grow up enough to go outside

I thought that the fact that this is not the first time might have an impact. The first time I could not believe how quickly they grew out of brooder space. This time I was prepared for that. I did, think, however, that larger breeds would grow faster than the smaller breeds.
I have silver laced wyandottes coming Feb. 25th
I can't wait. These I will keep. The RIR's and Barred Rocks will be sold when they are 8-10 wks old. Gotta keep this thing paying for itself!
