As I type this I've discovered another itchy bump on the back of my neck. I don't know what the heck is going on but if it's from my chickens then I'm just gonna buy all sorts of flea/tick shampoo and have a bubble bath party with the chickens.
These itchy bumps started on Thursday last week and each day I keep finding more and more. At first I freaked out and thought I had bed bugs but my mom helped me thoroughly clean and check my room for signs of them and no bed bugs showed up. I used to get these itchy bumps while I sleep but now I get them when I'm inside and when I'm outside. Yesterday I was changing the shavings in my bantam's coop and I felt a prickly feeling on my arm, like tiny needles, and when I looked it was a tiny little mite crawling on my arm. As soon as I saw that thing I put alot of food grade DE all over the coop and I dusted the birds. Today when I was outside sitting on the porch I got 4 bumps on my shoulder and I found a teeny tiny, microscopic, ant and it was the size of a mite. It was kind of see through and I'm thinking it's what's leaving me all these itchy bumps.. Did they come from the chickens?

I shower everyday too! Whenever I feel an itch I find a bump but no bug... I'm seriously creeped out guys please help.

Sounds to me like you might have papular urticaria, a sensitivity reaction to the bites of bugs. The "bumps" tend to appear in clusters on exposed areas, but can be anywhere. This doesn't mean you bugs all over you. It means that when you get one or more bites from a bug of a species to which you are sensitive, you get this reaction. It is basically a hive-like allergic reaction.

It might or might not be a might not be a reaction to bites from a chicken mite. I have this reaction whenever I get a bite from a certain tick species, and a particular mite with which my rabbits were once infested. Outbreaks usually last a few weeks, but if you don't rid your environment of the insect, you might have outbreak after outbreak.

My advice is to see a good a dermatologist to make a definite diagnosis (much better than from some unknown like me over the internet!).

P.S. My primary care doctor thought it was bed bugs -- We turned the house upside down, never found any, then hired a one of those bed bug sniffing dogs to sniff out the house...No bed bugs, thank goodness. Dermatologist took one look and a five minute history, and was able to tell me it was not bed bugs, but a reaction to some other insect bite.

I didn't know dermatologists saw people about bug bites! Thank you! I'm supposed to see a skin care doctor soon anyways.
