Do chickens call bedtime??

Now, I aint fer sure but I been told iffin you have a rooster he will herd the girls in and iffin not the the lead hen will herd the birds in at night. I dunno. I just wait until after dark and they are all in there waiting on their nightly dose of scratch.

If you have a roo in the bunch they will and do call the flock for roost.

If you do not have a roo, a hen will take this spot and she will call the flock in for roost.

It is a common myth that only roos will do this.
