Do chickens get "hormonal"?

Ok, she has laid 4 eggs so far now and she's mellowing back out.

back to being my little sweetie! She is still top of the order, but now she's a benevolent dictator.

My young rooster get hormonal. Ive got a lavender Ameraucana that Im having issues with right now. Hes like a teenage boy that has just noticed girls...

One of my RIR hens has turned into...I don't know what! If I put my hand down low to toss treats, or to put my hand on her, she pecks me...viciously! When I try to assert my authority over her she challenges me! Pecks harder, bows up at me, even uses her claws! None of my hens are laying right now and are molting some, too, so I don't know if her mood will improve when the egg laying starts back up, but if she doesn't chill out soon, she and I are gonna have a throw down! She is the only one doing this, so maybe it is a 'head hen' thing.

OK I really think there is something to this now. Honoria laid her first egg today and she's behaving horribly to all the girls, even her best friend. Bobby went back to normal in a week, I hope Honoria does too!
