I have a 4mo Easter Egger that was stumbling around, very disorientated for several minutes. I went in to call a local friend with more experience and when I came back out, the "seizure" seemed to be over. Now, she is seeming fine other than she is preferring to lay down most the time.

I've seen seizures in our spaniel, but didn't know if chickens had them too. Either that or her legs fell asleep and it took her a minute to get the feeling back. I dunno. It's awfully warm today in FL (88 deg) and she has plenty of water & shade, though.

What do you think?

I have a Buff orpington rooster and at night he will fall out of his coop on to the ground and acts like he can't get back up so he just lays there my husband has put him back in his coop so many times. Red (is he's name :D) will be perfectly fine then just face first to the ground flopping around like hes done gone crazy and when I get close to him he will get up as fast as he went down like nothing ever was wrong. The other day my husband said he came home from work with Red close to the front door(him and my two little hens like to lay in front of the door I guess we have some cool air sneeking out the bottom of the door) he said as he got close he ran toward him like he was going to attack and ran right into his leg. I'm guessing I have a rooster that has seizures or he has something wrong with him or he's plan crazy! I love my red and my two girls(Sally May and Suzie Q) best pets I've had they like to follow behind me a lot if I'm outside they just amuse me :D

I have a chook that has regular "turns" too. She falls off things as if she has passed out and then rolls her head around for about 30 seconds looking confused. After that she is fine. Scared the hell out of the first couple of times but I'm used to it now.

She is one of a flock of 10 and none of the others have the problem. I love her just the way she is.
