Do chickens have strokes?

I'm new to raising chickens. Got 2 RR pullet/hens? as a gift 2 weeks ago. Built a coop, feeding them scratch and plenty of fresh water. Both seem to be doing fine until yesterday. One chicken suddenly fell over and couldnt get up for no apparent reason. Seem to have lost ability to use one leg. I put it in hen house on fresh shavings. This morning it was dead. Any advise or suggestions would be helpful.

The short answer is yes.. I think anything with a brain can have a stroke.

Is that what killed your chicken? I don't know.
