Do chickens like water??

My 16 week old Easter Egger is having a terrible time with this heat.. we're in Florida. I was wondering if I got a hard plastic kiddie pool and put a couple inches of water in it.. would they bathe in it??

They wouldn't bathe in it but they probably will stand in it and maybe even dunk their heads in it!

I have a few containers with shallow water in them for my chickens, they love to sit in them when it is hot outside.

Make sure its not to deep chickens drowned very easy as there feathers soak up the water near enough straight away xx

I went to Home-Depo and got some small mixing troughs for mixing motor for my ducks and in the summer I see the chickens just standing in them for several minutes at a time and from time to time when it gets over 120 F degrees they will lay down to rest in them it really freaks people out who are not use to being around chickens so I just tell them they think their ducks it is fun to play with non poultry people sometimes, but yes your chickens will stand or sit in the water as long as it is not much more then three inches deep ......

Haha funny story.. I LOVE it!! Well I set up the kiddie pool and YES it only has right at about 3" of water. However, they have yet to get in??!! My Easter Egger has jumped up on the rim of the pool and walked around it but will NOT take the plunge... I DO think when they get used to it that they WILL get in it because they've been standing in their water bowl where I've put ice water for them!! So I'm thinking it's just a matter of getting used to it.. or so I hope!! I've also been giving them their feed mixed with ice water and made into an oatmeal and they have just flipped over it!! I've NEVER seen them eat ANYTHING with such enthusiasm!!?? So I'm very happy they like it so much as that's what they're supposed to be eating for nutritional value anyway!! Best of luck to everyone!!
