Do chickens molt before they're mature?

I'm a newbie to raising chickens, and I am wondering about molting. I have 15 chickens who are just over 3 months old. Will they molt even though they aren't mature? I've noticed some feathers on the ground near the coop, but none of them are looking scraggly yet.

They go through a couple molts on their way to maturity. None as spectacular as their annual molt once they're mature... But yes, they are molting, and yes, it's perfectly normal!

They're constantly molting the first summer until fully grown. Losing smaller feathers as the adult plumage comes in. The first true molt which can be hard leaving them near naked wont occur until next fall.
