Okay, possibly a stupid question, but I'm worried if it might be something or if it's just a goofy thing.

We picked up a couple BSL/cuckoo maran cross pullets today. They're sitting in their quarantine pen in our garage with it being so cold out right now. We checked on them earlier when the lights were out and we heard the weirdest thing. The seemed to be snoring.

The sound was like a big intake of air then a staccato of real short, high pitched peeps. Almost sounded like "Breath-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e"

I think it's just a worried noise. I refer to if as "snoring with fear"!

Mine definitely do. Most don't, but I have a few that have fully recovered from respiratory illness that snore really badly.

The snoring could also be a symptom of a respiratory disease

Acctually... yeah... my OEG are the ones that snore and they did have some respitory issues. I cleared them up with VetRX, but they still snore. I figured it was the breed.

So if it is a respiratory issue, what should we look for? I haven't had them long and I only got about 5 minutes to look them over today but they seemed fine till the snoring started up.
