do chickenz pick at bands?

do chickenz pick at bands? just wondering cause i want to get 1-2 eggs from different flocks but same breed(s) to hope increase the diversity. so i dont get 6 toed chickenz.

this way i can pick the best roos to keep from the nuggets or breed a couple of them and mark them with both parents and keep track of where i got them. sort of a controlled breeding program

or alternatively is there another easy way to mark them

Mine don't. I used the yellow kind with numbers on them that just sort of curl around the leg. They messed with them for just a few minutes right when I put them on and then they forgot about them. So nope, they don't pick at the bands at all.
