Do chicks need electrolytes, vitamins, probiotics?

It's indoors in our office...I just read somewhere that we shouldn't have them inside the house...I guess humans aren't suppose to be breathing in their dander or something.. So I am thinking of getting a small chicken hutch from TSC and putting it in the garage or outside with the heat lamp in it.

I had mine inside last year no problems, The only reason mine our outside this year is due to my son's puppy would not leave them alone. I don't think having the chicks inside would hurt anyone. If you do put them outside you need to make sure that no other animals can get to the them.

Yeah I figured I'd put them in the garage, those hutches at TSC seem pretty safe/secure but still I think they would be safer in the garage. My hubby does not like the smell of the chicks

When we human-brooded our chicks, we kept them inside the house for the first two weeks or so, and then moved them out to the garage. Unless someone has extreme allergies, a week or two isn't bad, and having easy access to them while they are so young and vulnerable helps to make sure they get off to a good start.

Once they get a bit bigger, say two weeks, the hutch in the garage sounds good. I wouldn't mess with the blanket so long as the garage doesn't have gaping holes in the walls. With a warming lamp in there they should be fine, day or night.

cool thanks Ralleia I'll do that then...I'm starting to wonder if I have allergies myself! But I think I could handle them in the house for another week.
