Do chicks sleep all night like chickens or do they wake for food/water

I hadn't heard of these before. Do you need the 250 watt, or will the 100 watt one do the trick?
Is there any disadvantage/advantage to having them sleep through the night? Our first chicks arrive in May.

150 watt is the size, the 250 is being fazed out so online venders still have them, plus online is about half the price of the pet stores. the flate ones work better that the cone shaped, but here's a pic so you know what to look for

Heat emitters - definitely will keep teh babies quiet at night. I started my chicks with a regular 100 watt light bulb and they had pecking sides of box parties every morning around 2 or 3 but now on heat emitter they are very quiet at night.
