Do Cochin Roosters Crow?

Every rooster starts crowing at different ages, other older roosters can keep some young ones quiet for a long time. The early crowers are usually full of themselves and end up being trouble. Breed doesn't seem to be a big factor in the starting date, mostly hormones and confidence.

My Cochin rooster is 12 weeks. He's just as big as my 5 month old pullets, but he runs from them and is a little scared of them. I haven't seen him show any "rooster like" behavior. I've had people tell me that their Cochin roosters crowed at 8 weeks, so I don't know.

Are you sure that's a rooster? My Cochin is the same age and he has a bright red comb and wattle. He just started crowing yesterday.
