Hi I have 2 hens which I got about a month a go and when I got them they both had hard egg shells. About a week later one of my hens started laying thin shells but the other one still laying hard ones. I have a dog but he is no worry to them but I have read that stress can cause thin egg shells. They are getting plenty of calcium and protein to build up there shells. What do you suggest or think is going on ?

Yes, constant stress may cause thinner eggshells. I would limit contact with dogs for a bit and see if that helps. Time may also help. Also, were there any feed changes?

I've had stress cause a drop in production, but not a change in shells. What are you feeding them?
