Do Dominique hens go broody often?

I only have 2 of them, the other 4 are breed that don't like to lay on their eggs, or so the hatchery website says so! http://www.meyerhatchery.com/produc...ickens&grd_prodone_filter=PRODUCT_ID = 'DOMS'

I noticed to day that is says Dominique's are broody. Mine are only 4 weeks old. I'm just getting prepared for the future. Anyone have some that have gone broody often?

I had a Dominique hen go broody about a month ago, she just turned 2. This was her first time to go broody and she had a successful hatch. Good luck on your hen

Thanks,I forgot to mention we have no roos, will they still go broody without a rooster? How long does it last?

The hen will need to set on fertile eggs for them to hatch. If she sits on non fertile eggs then if there are chicks in your local feed stores that are young you could place those under her. First take away the dummy eggs ... in the morning she thinks she did all the hard work

Nice idea to fool the hen. lol.... I'd say get a rooster so you can have fertile eggs. roosters are good to be in the backyard.
