Do Drakes Mellow Out Duck Hens?

Hello!! My Cayuga Hens are so attached to me. It’s cute, but also enough to drive us all insane. They get so loud any time I leave them, and now they are flattening themselves for breeding .
I’ve heard if I get a drake for them, he will mellow them out and "keep them in line". For my fellow duck keepers - Is this true in your experience?

if your ducks are imprinted on you, then no lol. all of mine are imprinted and i have 3 drakes and 2 hens (the older 2 boys are seperate)

mine all still think that me and my family are other ducks , and the girls still squat whenever we come out and all of them cry when we leave (so much that at this point we just bring them inside with us sometimes)

Oh man, what a disappointment! I love them, but... It's alot. I need some autonomy, ducks!

I got them at 2 days old, they are now 5 months old, and I typically let them quack it out! I only tend to their quacks in the morning when they let me know they are awake and ready to be let out! haha

My hen is the same- though currently shes mad at me and ingoring me since I was gone for a week. I got her a drake a few weeks ago and its soo much better. She only really screams now if she wants to be pet or treats. So, in my opinion and experience, yes the drake does mellow them out. Sometimes she runs around chasing the drake and yelling at him if he doesn't give her enough attention
