Do ducks get mereks?

I have 28 chickens and four ducks , I believe we have mereks and I didn’t know if that effected ducks?

I don't think so either. I thought it was just common in chicken. It's quail, pheasants and turkey that you would have to worry about getting it too.

From what I’ve read with waterfowl having body temp of 106-107 mareks would have a hard time living in their bodies.

Chickens have the same body temperature but I have noticed when my flock got it the ducks were not affected. I think it has to do with them washing themselves. I also noticed waterfowl have a natural resistance to certain diseases.

What did you do?
I’m uncertain of my road from here , I guess I wait and see who will die and who I’ll end up left with that are just carriers , then forever buy babies from hatcheries and have them vaccinated ???

I was told Ducks won't get the disease but can carry it. Wild birds carry it too. Sorry that's happening. Even vaccination doesn't totally work either. It only helps to limit the symptoms and try's to build immunity.

@casportpony. Just reading again and there is a duck version called Duck Virus Enterites DVE and a Turkey version called HVT
