do ducks molt in tropical countries?

When my ducks are molting it looks alot like someone has been plucking them, feathers everywhere, and usually you can see the new feathers coming in on the ducks especially the wings.

what breed do you have? if Muscovy my drakes don't get the telltale drake feather that other breeds do.

Sometimes the males don't have the drake feathers when they are in their eclipse plumage. Since Pekin nuptial plumage and eclipse plumage are both solid white, it's a bit difficult to tell what plumage phase they are in.

Yes, ducks must molt no matter where they live. The feathers don't last a lifetime. They get worn out and have to be replaced.
