I have one who is bigger than the rest. He or she has a slightly wider comb but is not redder than the others. It appears like it might be two rows instead of one. The tail feathers are rounded but do seperate for the tail to come up higher. This one has me fooled. Is it Homer or Helen??

Without pictures, it's hard to tell....but I will say a wider comb doesn't necessarily equal cockerel. :) Coloration is also very telling on EEs. If it's patchy, with wing bar leakage, there's a good chance you have a male. Pullets normally sport even color patterns.

My EE rooster Jabberwocky, did not have wattles.
