when they stop developing? I have just put mine into lockdown with very little hope of a hatch. I candled them last night, and could only see movement in one. There is no bad smell at all. I am hoping that is a good sign.

What causes an egg to smell that rotten egg smell is bacteria gets inside and multiplies. It doesn’t matter if the egg is fertile or not fertile. It doesn’t matter if the egg is developing or not. It doesn’t matter if the chick inside the egg is alive or dead.

An egg at incubation temperature is at a perfect temperature for that bacteria to grow, so if bacteria do get inside you will soon know it.

But no, because it does not smell is no indication the chicks inside ore going to hatch. Sorry, and good luck!!!
