Do females display? How Can I be sure I have a male?

I just saw the female display on another topic. It got me worried, because i thought only males do display and mating dance. How do I know mine is male? The farmer told me it was a male when I bought the baby.
 
If your peafowl has striped tail feathers and striped wing featers then it is a peacock.

Our younger (but most dominant) hen will display along side the boys. I've seen Zeus with his adult train displaying, Erohs with his 2nd year train displaying and Jade (2nd year, but most dominant hen) along side the two males displaying with them. Quite funny to watch.
