Do free range ducks smell?

Right now i have a small duck flock that free ranges all day and have a pond to play in im thinking of getting more but was wondering if having 10-15 ducks free ranging all day would stink up the yard. The yard is around 2 acres.

Maybe if they stay in one place all the time. Mine tend to, but I give them treats and feed them in other places to encourage them to move around more.

We don’t free range our ducks all day, but their enclosure is in the middle of our yard. I have never gotten a whiff of them at any other point in the yard, so I can’t imagine your ducks would stink up the yard. I mean, you might want to keep an eye on your pond’s health since an over-load of fecal matter could mess with the balance of the mini-ecosystem. I don’t know how big the pond is, but I imagine if it’s pretty sizable, you shouldn’t have any problem with 15 ducks.

Thanks for the help the ones i have now usually dont spend to much time in the same area. If i do get more i will make sure they dont just hang around the same area all day.

I've found that ducks themselves don't smell: it's really just their swimming source (that gets pooped and peed in all day) and their pee (that has soaked into absorbent material). Both I've found easy to manage!

I agree! I bale out their pool every night and it smells disgusting! I don't know how they can mess it up so fast!

This is why a pond with a drain is in my summer to-do list. The less I have to stick my nose in there, the better!
