Do guinea fowl and chickens go together?

The only problem I ever had with mine is sometimes the male guineas were a lil bit rough on my chicken hens. On the flip side when they are outside the roosters seem to stick up for the chickens. But my guineas really dislike my ducks. lol

I'm currently having an issue with aggressive guineas attacking my cornish x roosters. The guineas are a few weeks older than the chickens, but everyone was raised in the same brooder, lives in the same house and ranges on the same property. Just recently the guineas have begun to target the corn x boys and will chase them until they are exhausted. The poor guys will usually just bury their heads under a wing or in the wood pile if they make it that far and take the beating. It started as a once in a while thing but very quickly became a full time job for the guineas - chase one down, peck it until they get bored, go chase another one down. Its terrible to watch or listen to and gets all the other chickens very upset too. I've actually considered slaughtering the roos ahead of schedule to put an end to it but I'm afraid they would just target the next chicken down the line.

Any ideas what's going on or how I might alter the behavior? I have a very happy little flock and am developing some pretty deep resentment for the guineas.

We have about 20 Guineas. They tend to stick with thier own and roost at night wherever there is space in the rafters of the barn.

The Guineas are VERY active and they chase some of the hens, but no real problems.

It helps if you can raise them with chickens from keets. All mine are done this way except a very few.

You MUST free range your Guinea fowl, otherwise they will get very aggressive and unhappy. They do NOT do well without free range.

Everybody ranges all day everyday. Until this problem developed the guineas were covering a huge area, ranging up to a quarter mile from the house. Now they just stay in the yard and go after the chickens.

There are only 3 and they have different red/orange coloring on their legs. Think I've identified the one we call "tie dye" as the main aggressor. Sounds like bad news for Tie Dye.

Thanks!

Chickens..or fowl period...are so addicting! you always find something else you want to add to a flock. I'm thinking about adding one or two but im afraid my RIR's will bully them like the ret of my chickens! ( the bully everyone in the coop. im thinking about getting rid of them.)
