Do hens go into their coop each night by themselves?

Maybe they peck it in the head and it don't like them. Not kidding...

I have one that prefers to roost outside in the run. I manually put her in every eve.

My coop definitely has less humidity than sleeping under the stars during a torrential downpour.

I think this particular pullet is just a few flakes short of a bale.

Really need more info if you want a viable solution for your scenario.
How many birds... and how old are they??
How big is your coop, in feet by feet?
Dimensions and pics would be most helpful.
Lots of different issues can affect this.....
Crowding, ventilation, pest/predators, integration of new birds, etc.

Really just a question, not a scenario . I am just a beginner with questions - a Pre-beginner without a permit, coop, run or chicks yet. : - )

I had 35 chickens at one point and when they were young they always returned to the coop. That is where they feel safe.
But when they got big enough to get up on a 6 ft fence they preferred to roost up on the fence poles at night, then I had to put them inside and shut the door.
