Do hens go into their coop each night by themselves?

If they just roam in their run all day then yes they know to go inside by themselves. Usually when you have to train them is if they free range and you gotta get them to come back you give em treats in or near the coop. But that won’t be necessary if they don’t free range and are only in their run.

I've had some (these are the same breed) that like to stay in the coop and I have to put them out and close the door so they get out during the day and I've had some that don't like to go in the coop and I have to place them in there manually. They eventually learn after I get tired of fooling with them.

Mine usually go inside by themselfs. All I have to do is close the door. I guess it depends on the chicken's instinct on how they behave.

My coop definitely has less humidity than sleeping under the stars during a torrential downpour.

I think this particular pullet is just a few flakes short of a bale.
