I KNOW THIS IS A WEIRD QUESTION . BUT DO HENS HATCHED BY HER MOTHER GO BROODY OR AN INCUBATED HEN CAN ALSO GO BROODY .I HAVE A CUTE GIRL ( GAME CROSS UNKNOWN BREED ) WHO NOW LAYS EGGS AND I THINK SHE WAS INCUBATED . WILL SHE GO BROODY ?

It all has to do with hormones. I have had both great broodies and great foster moms (rare) from hatchery stock. Game birds do not go broody as a trait as much as a silkie does but they do sometimes go broody. Incubating vs mothered really doesn't matter much for that trait.

THe key is in her genes, not in how she was incubated.

If you select eggs from a hen that goes broody, he girls are more likely to go broody than if you select eggs from a hen that doesn't go broody. See what I mean? Incubation method is not so important as the traits of the mother ( and father) .
