I bought 8 chickens knowing there was 2 cock and 6 hens as a novice chicken owner I don't know a lot about them!!!! But over the last week I have noticed little lumps growing on th back of there legs....... they have got bigger over the last week and as I now know they are SPURS..... but I have looked and looked but not found an answer, DO ANY HENS GROW SPURS???

Almost all chickens are born with spur nubs, even pullets. In some breeds, the nubs are quite large. Having spur nubs does not mean a bird is a cockerel.

If you post photos (of the whole bird, not just the legs) we can help sex them for you, probably. Don't forget to tell us their ages.

Thanks for that info :) I will grab photos and get back to you
