We have nine hens that are nearly three years old. Last May they were moved to another coop to acommodate a new flock. They laid well through summer and then went through a molt that is now finished. None of them have laid an egg in three months.

Today it dawned on me that none of them do the squat. Is that a sure sign that there are no more eggs coming? After they finished molting they all look better and more beautiful than they ever have, what gives?

Any advice will be greatly welcomed, thank you.

mine stopped laying due to broodiness and molting. They didn't squat when they weren't laying. They are squatting now and have started laying again.

Mine do stop squatting when they stop laying. But it doesn't mean that they will never lay again. Just that they aren't laying right now.
