It's been 40 minutes since your original post, yes? I think you should peel away a little membrane IF it looks ready. It's in mid-zip and that only is supposed to take about a half hour. I have had them take longer and be normal but they were constantly wiggling around and making some progress. So far still little progress but the almost dry chick is sometimes pecking the egg. Is this ok? Humidity dropped some and is no at 69%
That is for pipped eggs. Zipping chicks have a much shorter time frame before they exhaust and die.the chick is ok that is pecking the other eggs.
the chicks need time to finish absorbing the yolk so don't touch them if it's a whole day and no progress then you can help
No, it won't. Just toss a warm and wet paper towel in there when you take the egg out and don't fan the lid too much. What kind of incubator do you have? But if I open the Bator won’t it shrink wrap the others that are pipped? I have one that pipped yesterday and you can see it breathing but it hasn’t zipped yet. It’s my first hatch so I am inexperienced
Pip to zip does---zip to hatch does not. I would peel away some shell and make sure it isn't stuck.Hello..Pip to zip takes hours and no you can remove the hatched chicks into the brooder.
Give it more time. They absorb the yolk as they pip and when ready they zip. Assisting too soon causes issues
