one im not sure of yet

Oh wow! His comb turned red fast. He's a little guy, how old? This is making me feel a little better. Mine's comb is still colorless.

hes 5 weeks old and pretty gentle he hops on my shoulder evertime i go in coop i have 4 rir and 1 rsl 5 weeks old already in big coop with my 8 13 week old girls

I have a 9 week RIR pullet, and her comb is much smaller than on yours, and her stance is lower.

I'm new to chicks, so I'm not an expert, but the behavior plus the large comb would make me think roo. But RIR hatchery birds are usually mixed with something, so maybe yours is just mixed with a bird that has a larger comb? Good luck! I was so worried waiting for my sexed birds to get large enough to be sure. We are almost ten weeks now though, and looks like all girls!

thanx i didnt want a roo but one got snuck in lol but hes charming me into letting him stay but if other 2 are roos also then i have to re home them good luck to u also

my rir are mixed but they are turning out nice i got 6 but only 5 turned out rir and 1 turned out red sex link and shes looking good also

My RIR has reached 9 weeks old, and now the roo traits are really coming out. I was hoping to find him a good home, but it looks as though he may end up on my uncle's dinner table. He's beginning to crow in the morning. He's also getting quite nasty, and pecking at my hand. I hear RIR roos can be awfully mean. He is much, much larger than any of my other birds. It's a sad day, lol...

Oh no! I'm sorry, I have heard that about RIR roos though. Our pullet is still the sweetest in our little flock, thankfully!
