Do I have a new layer???

I have 5 chickens. ISA brown, barred rock, RIR and 2 Easter eggers.

Only ISA brown has been laying for 2 and 1/2 weeks now.

Today, I collected one egg as usual but this looks darker than her usual color.

Do I have another layer? ISA brown laid last 4days so I didn’t really expect an egg today. She seems to take a day off every 3 or 4 days.

Could this barred rock or RIR??

Hello. It is possible that you have another layer or she laid you 2 eggs. Laying 2 eggs is common enough to make it worth note. I have had that happen to me more than once. Not sure what color RIR produce but Barred Rocks produce brown eggs.

Thank you. Lighter color egg I collected yesterday and today’s egg is on the left.

So maybe barred rock since this darker.

I think you have a new layer. Easily the barred rock or even the RIR.
