Do I have a sick Chick

I hear a tapping noise coming from 1 of my chicks, when I make him drink water the noise stops and then starts up again. They are 4 days old and seem ok I have to clean their butts every now and then. Is that normal? First timer!

Pasty butt appears to me, to be on account of shipping stress. I dealt with it when we got our day olds shipped last May. Since I've been attempting to hatch eggs from our own eggs has = no pasty butt problem.
