Usually at 8 to 10 weeks, it will be obvious which is which. Understanding the breed, helps identify them even earlier.

For me, I can identify my own chicks at 2 1/2 to 3 weeks of age. And these are Swedish Flower chicks.

I am not great with anconas

But for a guess, in general, I would say female, the comb is still pale, anconas like leghorns can get nice, large, flappy combs

Anconas get their combs early and wind up with big combs like LHs. This is a pullet.

Definitely a pullet! Due to my limited coop space and inability to have 2 roosters due to space, I pulled feathers and sent them off for DNA testing and she is female!

I'm glad because I would literally have had to build another coop for the roosters!

I think my 9 week old Ancona has your little one beat! Lol. It was supposed to be a hen. Seriously doubting it!
