Im thinking that my Muscovy ducklings are one of each sex. What do you think?? I know its a little early but I figured y'all probably know more than me, lol

The one that Im suspecting a female is the one with the white on its wings. Its slightly smaller than the other (which just happened this past week it seems the one bird shot up in size) and the head seems more refined and there isnt much of a start of caruncles yet like there is with the other. They are the same age but Im unsure if they are from the same batch.

white-winged (possible female) is in front. The other I think is a male.

How old are they? I'm no expert by any means but it does look like the white wing tipped one is feathered out more than the other and I thought I read that the scovie gals feathered out quicker than the males. Very beautiful babies you have there!

Thank you! Im not sure exactly how old they are to be honest. I didnt hatch them and have had them for about 2 weeks now I think. And yes the "girl" is more feathered and is smaller than the other. Here are a couple more pics:

(excuse the fact that the "boy" is dirty...we disrupted his play time in the water, lol)

And dont worry I had my arm underneath them supporting them

They just wont sit still long enough to get a picture without being held, lol

oh yeah, looks like a boy and a girl :) Congratulations! I've got 6 scovie babies (approx. 3 weeks old) and I am eager to see how many of each sex I have.

Muscovies are not a mallard derrived breed, they are their own species so the voice sexing method does not work on them since they do not quack at all.

The feet on both of them look pretty big and disproportionate to the body. My female ducklings generally have very petit feet proportionate to their body size.

In a couple more weeks the difference will be even greater.

The boys make a huffing/hiss noise, the girls make a trill sing-song noise, however if startled a girl will sometimes give a quack.

Looking at the legs on your Scovies it looks like a boy and a girl to me.
