This past spring my Dark Throated hen laid eggs, and my male was a Yellow Golden. Of course I couldn't resist, and incubated the eggs. The 5 chicks are now about 4-5 months old, and appear similar to my RG youngsters..... Do I have Salmons? Or do I need to breed these back and the resulting offspring would (breed true) and be "Salmons"? Or just wait and see when they mature? Any input appreciated!

I actually e-mailed quite a few folks (when the chicks hatched) but got minimal replies... not sure if they were one of them but possibly. Tonight I'm going to check the eyes of the 2 I know for sure are the (DTRG X YG); visually they look the same as my red goldens, maybe a shade "greyer" looking than them but still hard to tell apart. So if there is a female, than according to their website, hens are supposed to look like YG hens (and non of them do) so I supposed they would need to be bred back to produce true Salmon color mutation. Hmmmm..
