I have 3, 5/6 week old silkies and I was told that they were splash when I got them. At first I saw a little grey in them when they were a few days old but now all I see is white/yellow. Will the color pop out soon or are they white silkies?

Fun Fact: Sometimes people think they'll be selling splashes when they're not. The splash coloring is a recessive gene, so it tends to skip a generation. To have higher chances of having splash silkies, you might want to take the grandkids of some splashes. AKA, if you breed these ones theres a good chance their chicks will have the nice color you're looking for. Now to brag, I attached photos of my lady Issa, who sadly passed away in may :(. Still a beauty though

Isn't splash when they get 2 blue genes? By breeding blues together, you should get splashes. I've never heard of it skipping generations in whites

The celadon may be likely. I know if they hatch from a blue egg, those quail may or may not lay blueneggs, but they have to hatch from a blue egg to get the genes possible to lay blue

I found this, you may be right. It doesn't mention white silkies but I think I got my fact confused with celedon quails :/ Sorry everyone! How embarrassing.
