do I have the right to be upset?

I got 17 eggs from my neighbor to incubate in exchange for 14 of my eggs that they can eat. I incubated them and 13 have hatched so far. I was talking with my neighbor this morning and mentioned that 13 baby chicks have hatched from the eggs she gave me and she out of the blue told me "she will be over tomorrow to get her half of the baby chicks."

She has never mentioned to me that she wanted half of what hatched or anything until now that they have hatched. I am going to just shut my mouth and give her half of the chicks and then never do anymore dealings with her again.

I am wrong for feeling used and upset?

It's a small price to pay to see how a person really is. Just do like you said because 6.5 chicks aren't worth getting upset over.

i know i would be upset! i would tell her straight up that that was not your understanding of the deal and you will not do any business with her again

yea I know its really not worth stressing over but i had plans on raising them. I don't know it just really upset me today. Now I have to go through and decide which ones i am going to keep.

I would be upset too! However, this is just me, I would not say anything just because they are neighbors and you still have to live near them. Like Timmy said, now you know what they are like and 6.5 chicks is a small price to pay to keep peace with a neighbor. I just wouldn't have anymore business dealings with them.

Id never do business again with her and tell her what you remember being said. Not worth getting your blood pressure up over but i wouldnt just go meekly either

If you know your neighbor really well, I would be honest with him/her, and just in a nice way while you're giving them what they think is their half of the chicks.. just tell them that you had been thinking about the whole situation and didn't realize that was the agreement, but if thats the case, here you go... and just not do business with them any more.

It could just be a simple misunderstanding, but if you dont say something.. you will never know. IMO Be the bigger person, and don't hold back, but also dont let anger run the conversation. Just be honest.

No, I'd be upset too. I'm sure it was all some big misunderstanding from the beginning, her somehow thinking that she made a deal with you or something. Sorry you ended up being shorted that way though.
