I just found my fav girly dead in the coop. She layed an egg yesterday and the day before, was running around yesterday with the kids totally normal behaviour and then I went to collect eggs an hour ago and she was dead. No egg bound, no sign of trauma, no reason for me to think she was sick at all. Other 2 birds are as normal as usual. Free ranging, drinking, eating & laying as usual!

What do I do..I examined her best I could but she smelled and the kids were very upset. She had to have died last night at some point. I’ve never seen a dead bird before but her body looked to be in a roosting position making me think she literally just dropped dead.

Advice plz

Edit to add: she has always had issues with pasty butt, since being a chick. I’ve posted before about it and it was basically determined she’s got too bit of a fluff butt since she never had any signs of illness. We just trimmed her butt and went about it and she was always fine. But maybe something happened with that? Like I said tho, she layed eggs still no signs of struggle.
