Granny's gone and done it again

The manager told us that since the hospital became affiliated with the Missouri Cancer Associates (I think that is who they said) they were going to be providing a lot of outpatient type services and treatments so they wanted to provide a place for family members...and patients who weren't inpatients...to stay as long as they needed to. It was perfect since we live 3 hours from the hospital and his procedure was scheduled for 8 AM we didn't have to get up at 3 and dodge deer to get there. Plus the house was was like a quarter of a block away from the hospital proper next to their parking lot. All we had to do was throw our overnight bags in the car and walk over to the hospital.
Oh..Just like this as I was saying. Very close to the hospital.

Immaculate. It was like a big ranch style home with a central living room/kitchen/dining area with corridors where the rooms were. I won't say that the bedrooms were huge, just bed, nightstands, dresser and TV but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and nice. I'd definitely use the service again should fate wind us up that far from home again. Well worth 40 dollars a night.

It wasn't a set fee. If you could pay they appreciated the donation as the service is provided by the hospital. If you couldn't afford to pay that was fine too. It was such a good offer we donated more than they asked for and we received a nice letter from the foundation thanking us. It would be great if all major hospitals could offer such a service. Many hospitals even have floors that they aren't using that they could convert into rooms for people to use. Surprised that many haven't picked up the ball and ran with it. But great that they can offer the service for free like Ronald McDonald House. But even they appreciate donations, I bet.
