Hello.
I have 4 beautiful free range hens in a large garden. One day I got back to 2 roosters, from the farm behind. The roosters had obviously grown up together as they seem happy in each others company. We have now been joined by an even larger rooster whom has taken a shine to one particular hen. I have tried several times, chasing him off to the farm and firing a BB gun at him, but he still keeps coming back. He doesn't seem to be upsetting the apple cart, but I fear it may be too many. Only one of the roosters sleeps with the hens at night. (The smaller one seems to know his place and disappears for the night but I am concerned that this new one will upset things? My husband and I are too chicken to kill and animal. Any suggestions?

Well, you are generally supposed to have one rooster for every 1-10 hens you own. But if they are all living together peacefully, the hens aren't getting to much attention and there are no conflicts, I'd say you are fine.

Thank you for replying.
I think we will see how things pan out.
They all seem to have sorted out the pecking order and as 2 of the roosters sleep elsewhere, there may be no problems.
Thank you.
