We are new to all this. In fact I am a city girl! Gerry came home with 3 ducks a couple months ago because we are on two acres in country and wanted to have a few chickens. Makes sense right? All has been fine other than they freak out trying to get them in the pond. We were told the Pekin and one of the Khaki Campbells are hens and that leaves the other KC a drake. One has an olive bill and seemed a bit darker head hence the name Oliver. The other with a bluer bill ( BlueBelle) has a head and bottom just as dark green and their body feathers are quite identical. Now suddenly today BlueBelle is biting Oliver and the friendly threesome is no more. At first Gerry thought she/he was trying to mate but .... since the colors are staying the same......
I THINK THEY ARE BOTH DRAKES!

We put Bully BlueBelle outside the pen and IT is pacing like crazy. We can’t leave him out all night for fear of raccoons. We can’t put them together overnight for fear of Oliver getting hurt. It is a mean ..........! What do we do????

I think your right about them both being drakes. The one in the front has the curled tail feather which males usually get. Dont see it on the other but its colored the same so possibly. Males will breed each other if no duck is available. What breed are they?

tThey are Khaki Campbells. They both now are have the curly tail feathers also. I read when we first had them given to us that both male and female can have curly tail, that males have a greener bill and that both have a mallard like green head but the males is much darker.
We had a Pekin given to us also with the Khaki Campbells. We were told that is a hen. I didn’t like jumping into this and wasn’t happy about not being prepared. Gerry still doesn’t see a problem! He said they were fine when he shut the pen door. Just sounds like rape and violence to me!
