Hello, ducks....
I had to assist with the first break with this guy and he’s still not progressing. I’m scared of him bleeding. Do i help him? Is he going to be ok? His membrane looks like it’s drying around him and the humidity is high... please watch the video- let me know your thoughts on what to do...

I would help crack the other side to make it easier to break out of...... his beak has no way of zipping the other side seeing his position there. So yes, I would definitely help the poor runt out of it's shell. Do be careful though.

I would start at the edge of the crack and work my way around being careful not to break off chunks that might cause bleeding..... just crack it enough to where the chick can use it's legs to rip off the other half. Maybe people with more experience can chime in.

He's still yawning/chewing, which means he's still absorbing yolk. Don't assist yet, he's not ready. Put him back in the incubator and give him 3 or 4 more hours. Then reasses. What's your humidity at? I would up it to 75%.

Ok!!! Temp is at 97-98 and humidity 75%

We hatched some geese and had the same thing happen. The humidity was at 85% but the membrane still dried out. My conclusion was that the heat element in the bator was the culprit. I ran a couple bandannas under hot water and wrang them out. I draped them over so it was like a tent, not touching the chick, only covering. I also used a q-tip moistened with RO water to wet the membrane itself. We ended up assisting the hatch the rest of the way but we waited until it was done yawning. Hes the little brown Chinese. Feisty as ever!
