So this morning he was standing in my way. Wouldn't move, I bent down to fill the water container and he started shuffling his feet like a dancing penguin... what is he doing?

I had a leghorn do that one morning stepped right up on the cull list. Somebody had to go and he volunteered.

Personal history, red roosters are jerks.
I've had all manner of breed of roosters, and the red ones have all been mean. The nicest roosters I've had are all momma hen raised backyard mixes. If you have extra eggs, try to find a friend who will incubate a few and raise some, as hands off as you can, and add them to the rest of your flock as soon as possible. You'll find a good one in the mix and keep him.
