Do I Keep the Rooster with the new flock?

Thanks everyone for you vote it certainly seems to be in favor of the older roo

Right now they are all mixed together young, old, hen's, roo's and he only seems to bother with his original flock and ignores the others. If i rehome all his original hens will he work with/protect the younger girls once they are older? other factor is the older hens listen to him will the younger ones ever follow his lead?

Agree with everyone else that a 'good boy' is well worth keeping; they are hard to come by, and as your's has proven himself then all the better.

Generally older birds will avoid/ignore the younger until they reach POL and become a fully fledged flock member. He'll still keep a look out for them until then, but he won't flirt and chuckle until they become more mature.

How old is the old boy? If he's not "old" I think you should keep him.

He is 2 yrs old.... not sure if that is old for a rooster?

2 is not old for a rooster. I'd hold on to him.
