Do I need a heat lamp for week old chicks in the garage in Phoenix, AZ

I went down to a 150 watt infared reptile lamp, because 250 was getting too hot inside, just exchanged it. Works great!

I only used a 100 watt bulb and only turned the light on at night. As other people have said, what matters is how the chicks are acting.
