I have 12 hens that are 19 weeks and got a rooster from a friend about a month ago, he protects this group but I have another 4 hens that are 12 weeks & feel terrible that the Rooster pays no mind to them, the four are on their own. My question is, do I order a baby Rooster for them or do I find a grown Rooster for them or no Rooster?

What you have are pullets and a cockerel. It’s actually a good thing that your cockerel is ignoring them, as they are not sexually mature and ready for his attentions yet. Once they start to lay, he will pay more attention to them. Chickens of different ages often separate themselves into sub flocks. They are likely to become one flock once everyone’s laying.

Wow! Thank you!
