Do I Need Another Roo?

Does anyone know what the roo to hen ratio should be? Right now i have one roo to 9 hens. Is that enough?

If you have a good roo, the ratio is 1 to 10-15. You'll get better fertility with 10. So you should be fine and you could get another hen or two!

right now i have a broody hen and eight eggs under her. I dont know how many will hatch and i was hoping to get at least on roo from her but didint know if they would fight if they were in the same pen when the young one got older

It all depends on the roosters. My two big roosters fight sometimes, but I have never seen big daddy even look cross eyed at the two bantam roosters. Chances are you will hatch a rooster, and then you can find out for yourself. Be sure to check back in with us and tell how it went!!
