Hi everyone I appreciate your answers. Do I need grit for layer feed?

    no,
however if your chickens are eating other things you may want to provide it or at least let them free range so they can collect it themselves,

If they are old enough to be eating layer feed they are also eating other things they find. So they will need grit in their crop whether it's provided by you or what they can scrounge on their own.

My hens have a large run and have access to a pasture several hours a day. I still provide a bowl of grit and they do use it. At least if they need it, it's there.

You don't need grit, your chickens do.[IMG]
