Do my hens need grit for scratch grains?

yes, they will need grit for any grains/corn..... they might be able to get it naturally from your yard,,,but to be safe just provide a bowl of grit available to them all the time. I do have to refill mine from time to time. I live in Florida and have no pebbles or rocks in my yard. a bag of grit lasts a long time.

Yes, grit is needed for any food the chicken eats that is not water soluble. So if you do not have natural tiny stones around in your run, you should supply them with grit.
